Holy Orders

The Diocese of Monterey has a special office to help anyone discerning a vocation in religious life, priesthood or the diaconate.

Perhaps you are considering a calling to serve:

• as a sister or brother in a religious community. There is a wide variety of religious orders to guide in the full use of our personal gifts;

• as a deacon. Deacons are trained by the diocese to preach, witness at baptisms and weddings, to assist at Mass, and to help administer parishes;

• as a priest. Seminarians discern how to best put their gifts at the service of God and the Church by reflecting on how to minister in a diocese or religious community.
