When that child is old enough to learn (and question), we are eager to support their spiritual growth and engagement. Parents are their children's first and primary teachers, and we feel honored to be asked to share that experience when children are enrolled in our Religious Education program.
Children in grades one through five meet weekly during the school year to learn more about our Catholic faith in experience-appropriate experienced graders might use more of a crafts-based approach, while fifth-graders explore active ways to engage in the faith community. Yet all are instructed from nationally accredited educational materials and creative, personal lessons from our volunteer catechists. The children look at how they can best understand and live out our shared faith.
During these weekly sessions, children in second grade and higher can enroll in our two-year Sacramental Preparation program if they wish to receive Eucharist (Communion) or Reconciliation (Confession).
Teens interested in receiving the sacrament of Confirmation can enroll in our two-year program when they are of age. They usually meet twice a month during the school year to learn how to live as mature, responsible Catholics.
